- How to avoid blocked mail
- SpamCop by it's nature treats bulk mailers harshly. However, it is
possible to remain "clean".
- Avoid being reported by SpamCop users
- One report does not necessarilly result in blacklisting
- Spamvertisement does not result in listing
- Customize content per-recipient
- Easy opt-out (no need to know email address)
- Make opt-in clear, secure and accountable
- Clear: Tell users in plain english what to expect.
- Secure: Do not allow one user to "opt-in" another
- Accountable: Keep detailed records of all opt-in/outs (ips, times).
- Play games with different servers/IPs
- SpamCop treats each IP individually
- Send opt-in confirmations from "sacrificial lamb"
- Run "grey" mailings, if any, from same
- Reserve mailing list server (IP) for 100% "white" mailings
- Won't avoid all damage, but should limit damage caused by blocking.
